Marty Morell plays both Old School and New School! He used to play with the Bill Evans Trio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M... He teaches jazz drums at the University of Central Florida. He is the BEST!
Stanton Moore and J.P. Gaster are my best drummers and I really could not pick one of the two to be the best, in my opinion they are two of the hardest workers that are always showing that they are representing the drummer as much as the music they are playing.
Thanks Steve. I saw Stanton Moore here in Fresno at Bentley's seminar. What impressed me was the strong sound of his snare rim shoots on 2 &4. It seems the drummers that are out there working multiple gigs/styles year after year like Stanton, always seem to have that!

And that is where he is soo good with that feel and groove, but he only had JOHNY MALCONVICH, [spelled wrong im shure] but i have to my advantage the DRUM PROFESSOR.
Howdy Mr. Professor. I'd have to say my favorite drummers are Mitch Mitchell and Ginger Baker. I guess that makes it clear which school I'm comin' from! Would love to see more info/demos based on classic rock. This is becoming one of my favorite sites. thanks every so much.
